Cascading Three 1 Cent Copper British East Africa Coin Pendant

Cascading Three 1 Cent Copper British East Africa Coin Pendant

Three cascading original 1935 East African 1 Cent copper coin pendant, handcrafted with Sterling Silver.

Once currency. Now history, reimagined.

These original East African 1 Cent coins date to 1935, when the East African shilling was the currency used across the region. Struck during the reign of King George V, the bronze coins feature the distinctive curved elephant tusks that surround their centre a small but evocative detail from East Africa’s monetary past.

For this piece from SuhaniMara’s Coined in Time Collection, three coins are linked in a sculptural cascade and finished with Sterling Silver details, transforming something once exchanged in everyday life into something entirely different: a piece of history to wear.

Their original markings and traces of age are intentionally preserved. Each coin has already travelled through time and through hands; SuhaniMara simply gives its story another chapter.

Handcrafted in Kenya. Bold. Historical. Modern.

Please note: as original historic coins are used, variations in patina, markings and wear are part of the character of each piece.
