Old 50 Cent British East Africa Coin Pin

Old 50 Cent British East Africa Coin Pin

Rare Half-Shilling/ 50 cent British East African Coin pin

A small piece of East African history, preserved to be worn.

Part of SuhaniMara’s Coined in Time Collection, this statement pin gives new life to an increasingly difficult to source  1963 East African 50 Cent coin.

The original coin features a striking East African landscape, with Mount Kenya and a lion imagery that captures both the landscape and wildlife so closely associated with the region. Its original lettering, relief and naturally aged surface are deliberately preserved, allowing the history of the coin to remain central to the design.

Reimagined as a contemporary pin, it can be worn on a jacket, lapel, scarf or other suitable fabric, turning an object once carried as currency into a distinctive piece of adornment.

What makes this piece particularly special is the growing rarity of these old 50 Cent coins. Rather than being forgotten in a drawer or disappearing with time, SuhaniMara preserves the coin as something that can be worn, talked about and eventually passed from one generation to another.

From currency to keepsake  a fragment of East African history, Coined in Time.

Original historical coins naturally vary in patina, surface markings and wear. These characteristics are part of the history and individuality of each piece.
