This 1 Cent Copper British East Africa Coin and hand made leather Sterling Silver hook earrings, gives an original piece of historic coinage a new life through SuhaniMara’s contemporary design language. The warm, naturally aged copper coin is transformed into earrings preserving the markings and character acquired over decades.

Once part of everyday currency in British East Africa, these old copper coins are increasingly difficult to find. Rather than allowing them to disappear into history, SuhaniMara upcycles and preserves them as wearable keepsakes  connecting past and present through jewellery.
