Echoes of Time Asymmetrical Antique Black Coral and Pearl Choker Necklace and Earrings

Echoes of Time Asymmetrical Antique Black Coral and Pearl Choker Necklace and Earrings

Asymmetrical Sterling Silver Choker with Antique Black Coral beads, Antique Tut beads,  top Japanese Akoya Pearls with handmade Sterling silver hooks and  matching earrings.

A  handmade sterling silver choker combining contemporary asymmetry with antique Yemeni craftsmanship and the luminous beauty of Japanese Akoya cultured pearls.

The sculptural silver choker has been shaped entirely by hand, with a bold asymmetrical line that gives the piece its modern edge. Its versatile form allows it to be positioned in several ways, the beaded section may fall dramatically at the front, sweep to one side or sit along the collarbone giving the necklace a different character each time it is worn.

Antique Yemeni black coral beads, traditionally known as yusr, bring depth, history and natural texture to the design. Once treasured in jewellery and prayer strands, every bead carries individual markings and gentle traces of age.

The antique Yemeni Tut beads showcase the extraordinary art of traditional silver granulation. Each bead was formed by hand from clusters of tiny silver granules, individually arranged and soldered together to create its distinctive textured, mulberry-like shape. Their irregularity is part of their beauty and a reminder of the artisan’s hand.

Fine Japanese Akoya cultured pearls introduce a softer contrast. Cultivated in saltwater and admired for their near-round form and bright, mirror-like lustre, they bring light and refinement to the aged silver and deep tones of the black coral.

Completed with matching earrings and handmade sterling silver hooks, this is a singular SuhaniMara creation, bold, historical and modern, with no fixed way to wear it and no possibility of being exactly repeated.
