Sterling Silver hand cut  Acacia on Acacia wood pendant.

Yellow-Barked Acacia Wood and Sterling Silver Pendant is Inspired by my love for Kenya’s striking yellow-barked acacia trees, this pendant  holds a piece of naturally fallen acacia wood within matt-finished sterling silver. A delicate, hand-cut silver acacia motif rests across the wood, preserving the tree’s story in wearable form.

During the rains, part of a yellow-barked acacia fell naturally. Rather than allow the wood to be discarded, we salvaged a section and transformed it into jewellery giving new purpose to a material already shaped by the Kenyan landscape.

A limited collection that has taken  time, thought  and effort to create, hand cut and  treat the wood, polish and preserve while cutting the acacia trees paying close attention to detail, the end result has been rewarding.

Acacias are vital to the ecosystem: their leaves and branches provide food for giraffes, elephants, rhinos  and other herbivores, while birds and insects rely on them for shelter and habitat. This conservation inspired design celebrates their importance while reflecting SuhaniMara’s commitment to thoughtful reuse, Kenyan craftsmanship and storytelling through nature.

Part of SuhaniMara’s Nature  collection, the Acacia tree is both landscape and symbol, carrying ideas of shade, resilience, and rooted belonging and preserving East Africa through modern craftsmanship.
