Aquamarine is a naturally occurring gemstone from the beryl mineral family, the same family as emerald. Its colour ranges from very pale blue to blue-green and deeper ocean blue. Its name comes from the Latin aqua marina, meaning “seawater.” It is traditionally associated with calmness and safe travel. Commonly found in Brazil, Mozambique and Nigeria among others.
Malaika means Angel in Swahili and the wire wrapping around the stone represents an angel wrapping its wings protecting the stone and keeping it safe.
